Maximilian Hatje studied law at the universities of Greifswald, Bielefeld, and Hamburg. While still a student, he worked as a student assistant for DIEKMANN Rechtsanwälte GbR and has since focused on pharmaceutical law, biocide law, cannabis law, food law, medical device law, and tobacco law.

His other areas of expertise include customs and excise law and related regulatory and criminal law issues, as well as issues relating to special commercial criminal law.
